About Us

Smooth Skin Daily is a magazine about Korean skincare for readers in the US: the routines, the ingredients, the sunscreens and the bathhouse culture behind the Korean body scrub.

Korean skincare reached many Americans through a few famous products and the idea of a ten-step routine. We’re interested in what sits underneath: why Korean formulas are built the way they are, what research says about ingredients like snail mucin and centella, how Korean and US sunscreen rules differ, and how any of it fits into an ordinary morning.

What you’ll find here

  • Routines that start small, with the steps in the right order
  • Ingredient guides that say how strong the evidence is
  • Sunscreen guides that explain Korean and US rules side by side
  • Bathhouse and body care, from the jjimjilbang to the Italy towel
  • Plain-English guides to Korean labels and terms

About Nora Ellison

Smooth Skin Daily’s guides carry the byline Nora Ellison. Each of her guides draws on dermatology guidance and published studies, checks the FDA for US rules and Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for Korean ones, and ends with a full list of sources. Korean terms are explained as they come up, and a guide says plainly when a skin problem is a job for a dermatologist.

Our How We Work page has the details.

The connection to Pebble

Smooth Skin Daily belongs to the company that makes Pebble body care. Our ownership page explains what the connection to Pebble means for what you read.

Our guides can’t tell you which product suits your skin, and if something you’ve used has irritated your skin, a dermatologist is the one to ask.
