About us

Smooth Skin Daily is a publication about Korean skincare routines, ingredients such as snail mucin and centella, Korean sunscreen, and body-care rituals like the jjimjilbang scrub.

Korean skincare has changed how many Americans think about their skin, but it reaches most people through product hype and ten-step routines nobody keeps up with. We explain the ideas behind it, the culture it comes from, and what the evidence actually says, so you can decide what is worth bringing into your own routine.

How we work

Every article starts with the questions people actually ask, drawn from search data and reader questions. We answer them using peer-reviewed research and guidance from leading medical organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Institutes of Health, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and DermNet. Each article lists its sources at the end so you can check our work.

We are careful about the line between skin care and medicine. Cosmetic products can improve how skin looks and feels; they don’t cure medical conditions. Where a topic calls for a diagnosis, we say so and explain when to see a board-certified dermatologist.

Who we are

Smooth Skin Daily is produced by a small editorial team. Articles are bylined to the editors as a group. Our editorial standards explain how we research, write and update our work, and our disclosure explains who owns this publication.
